What Is Anxiety

Anxiety denotes an undue call on the physical and psychological resources of the body. It is not only humans that go through anxiety but animals also have been known to have anxiety attacks.

When the body can't handle the extra mental and physical demands, beyond its normal capacity, then the body undergoes stress. As a consequence the regular physical and emotional operation of the body is inhibited.

Severe anxiety is an illness that is discovered in an innumerable number of of people around the globe. It does not focus on a special age group. Such anxiety can materialize for anyone. Stress may crop up due to a variety of reasons like hectic lifestyle, worry, too much physical goings-on, too much psychological activity, etc., and develop from there.

Extreme stress conditions may show themselves to be life-threatening in the long run if not dealt with in time. Lifestyles have changed over the last generation and persons nowadays are taking their working life very seriously. As a result of an arduous workload at the office and/or the demand to meet goals people are today are living with a lot more tension than their ancestors were.

Anxiety may lead to tiredness and to gloominess, even in the short term. Eventually your body loses the ability to carry out routine physical and mental undertakings. Hence it is compulsory to take preventive actions to tackle anxiety immediately when it does arise.

Anxiety leads to tense muscles and interferes with you from being able to focus on your work. Such stress is often the major reason in a heart attack or stroke. This occurs because, under stress, the heart has to work especially hard, and there is tremendous physical pressure on it.

Anxiety can lead to further symptoms as well, like serious headaches, high blood pressure, fatigue, eating disorders, hypertension and even cancerous tumors.

Many warning signs of this type of anxiety are observed only in the long term, but when the warning signs are evident it is often too late. Hence it is necessary to act fast and get your hectic lifestyle to a manageable level.

Treatments for anxiety include undertaking yoga and meditation, and also minimizing your day-to-day work burdens. The physical exercise helps to soothe the mind and the body and helps to lessen emotional and physical stress. It is best though to visit a doctor who will perform a complete diagnosis and then propose therapy and preemptive measures accordingly.
